Security has been beefed up in the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region after youth groups affiliated to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) threatened to destroy property belonging to the party, if Baba Alhassan who’s under arrest for assaulting and unlawful entry is not released.

Baba Alhassan who claims to be the leader of the Coalition of Tamale Youth led thugs on Tuesday to forcefully throw out CEO of the Tamale Teaching Hospital from office.

That attack resulted in the total withdrawal of services by doctors, nurses and other paramedics of the hospital.

Hoeverw an hour after the strike action was called off, some youth belonging to the NPP stormed the Jubilee Park threatening to cause mayhem if Baba Alhassan who was the ring leader of the attack is not released.

“Leadership should intervene and make sure that the due process is followed. People are dying there, they should go to the hospital and find out what’s happening and give us the feedback. People are not happy with the happenings, there’s a serious internal wrangling in the TTH which needs to be solved. We are saying that life should be protected our party should also be protected. He should be brought out now, now, now,” some angry youth fumed.

Kasapafmonline.com has learnt that some senior party officials foiled the attempt by the youth to go on rampage.
