Two persons have been picked up by Police in the Eastern regional capital of Koforidua for their alleged involvement in the gruesome murder of 24 year old businesswoman,Rita Afia Adusei Pokuaa.

The two persons who are been held for questioning are 36 year old Francis Torgbega and Iddi Mohammed alias Columbia.

This was disclosed in a news conference by the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command  ASP Ebenezer Tetteh.

Narrating the circumstances leading to the arrest of the two suspects, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh indicated that the police were given a tip off that 36 year old Francis Torgbega was in possession of the deceased Rita Pokuaa's Techno mobile phone.

Upon his arrest, the police realized that the phone had pictures of the late businesswoman a fact which was corroborated by sister of the late Rita Pokuaa.

The deceased was found dead in the wee hours of Wednesday 10th July,2019 by a shop attendant in the bushes behind the SDA Educational Unit at Abrewa-Nkwanta, a suburb of Koforidua with her underwear pulled beyond her knee.

She is  said to have left home on Tuesday, July 9 at about 7:00am for the shop but never returned, something they said was unusual of her hence reported the matter to the Effiduase Police Station.

Until the next day when they received news of her murder in the neighbourhood of Abrewa Mkwanta.

Investigations are still underway by the Eastern Regional police command to unravel the circumstances leading to this suspected murder.
