Drivers of ride hailing services in Kumasi have gone on a demonstration on Tuesday 11th May 2021, to express their displeasure at the way and manner they are being treated.

The Online Drivers Association says that they are facing a whole lot of problems as their lives have been put in grave danger due to criminals infiltrating their App.

The aggrieved drivers who use Uber, Yango and Bolt App say that criminals have been able to target , kill rob and maim them while doing their jobs.

According to the aggrieved drivers, when a passenger places an order for a ride, they are able to fully see the car number, the driver's name, and also colour of the vehicle but drivers have little or no information on the passengers they pick.

They are therefore calling on these companies to come to their aid and get the information of every passenger who signs on to the App.

Criminals pick these online drivers to remote areas rob , kill and sometimes may them and bolt with their cars.

Among their grievances, they are also complaining that the companies are ripping them off with low

In protest, the drivers parked their cars and converged at Ahodwo Roundabout in Kumasi to display their displeasure.

The drivers say managers of these ride-hailing companies have failed to address their concerns despite several appeals, hence the need to demonstrate and suspend their services until Sunday, May 16.
