Andy Cole believes Arsene Wenger’s arrogance has scuppered any chances of Arsenal winning the Premier League title this season.

Ex-Manchester United striker Cole claimed that Wenger’s best chance of winning the title was last season, and he believes the Frenchman reacts against what supporters and pundits think – to the detriment of his team.

Arsenal finished runners-up to surprise Premier League champions Leicester City in the 2015/16 season, but the Foxes claimed top spot by a big margin of ten points.

Cole believes Wenger’s side will be in the mix for the title this season, but will miss out on the crown.

“Arsenal’s best chance of winning the Premier League was last season,” Cole told 888Sport as quoted by the Metro. “Will they win it this season? No.

“They will be involved in the mix but the more people or experts who say Arsenal need this player or that player then Arsene decides he doesn’t need them. Arsenal might have missed the boat.”

Cole won five Premier League titles with Sir Alex Ferguson’s side at Old Trafford, and was part of the famous treble-winning team of 1999. He scored 121 goals in 275 games and is listed in the‘Legends’ section of the official Man United website.

Arsenal have failed to win the title for 12 years, and Wenger’s last triumph came with the famous ‘invincibles’ side of 2003/04.
