The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) has conferred a CIMG Fellow status on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies Accra, Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey.

He was honoured for his immense contribution to the marketing profession and dedication to CIMG over the years.

The conferment was made during the institute’s 29th Presidential Ball Dinner event at the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra over the weekend.

The Presidential Dinner Night, on the calendar of the CIMG, is the last event of the institute in a year and is also serves as a platform to network and build stronger ties among its members.

The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA was one of the two personalities honoured with the coveted CIMG fellow status on the night- the highest rank in the marketing profession.

Speaking shortly after the conferment, Prof OkoeAmarteycalled for innovation and new thinking in the marketing profession. This he says was the catalyst to “catching up on modern marketing strategies.”

This recognition comes just a day after the VC was crowned the ‘Most Respected CEO’ in the education sector at the maiden edition of the Ghana Industry CEO Awards.

The other honouree, Dr James Asare-Adjei of Asadtek Group Limited, who is also the immediate past president of the Association of Ghana Industries thanked the Institute for the honour bestowed on them.

19 other members were granted full membership status by the CIMG, while 38 additional members attained associate membership. Another Nine (9) graduated with Digital Marketing/AITE Programme certificate, and 12 others also recognized for a successful completion of the Diploma in Marketing course.
