Abedi Pele, the legendary Ghanaian footballer, has commented on the criticism faced by his sons, who currently play for the Black Stars.
Abedi Pele notes that Ghanaians treat his sons similarly to how he was treated during his playing days.
He believes that the criticism is a testament to the recognition of their talent, stating, "It is because they know you have and you can do it that is why they come at you. If you don't have it, nobody will call your name."
"They have never got it wrong. What I can say is that they've never left me alone,” Abedi told Sammy Yeboah while discussing the flak that his sons receive.
“When I was playing it was the same so there is nothing wrong with it. It is because they know you have and you can do it that is why they come at you. If you don't have it, nobody will call your name.”
Abedi Pele, a national treasure in Ghanaian football history, won the AFCON trophy in 1982 and was named African Footballer of the Year three times.
His sons Rahim, Jordan, and Andre have followed in his footsteps, representing the Black Stars on the international stage.
