Automita: The New Face of Volvo in Kosovo
The newly launched centre, named Automita, is designed to serve as the largest hub for Volvo cars in the Balkans. This state-of-the-art facility is a testament to the enduring passion of its owner, Wake Mita, who has had a lifelong admiration for the Volvo brand.
“I was born when Auto Mita started. I grew up in this industry, and since I was a child, I loved Volvo,” Mita said during the opening ceremony. “Twenty-five years ago, seeing a Volvo on the streets of Kosovo was a rarity. Today, we are celebrating the opening of the largest Volvo centre in the region, showing what Kosovars are capable of. Kosovo is now firmly on Volvo's global map.”
A Journey Four Years in the Making
Mita reflected on the four years of negotiations that led to the realization of this ambitious project. Initially met with skepticism, Volvo's representatives were reportedly amazed by the results of this investment. The opening marks a turning point for Volvo in the Balkans, furthering its presence and reputation in the region.
Showcasing Volvo’s Electric Future
The ceremony also saw the regional debut of the Volvo EX90, the brand’s flagship electric vehicle. Representing the pinnacle of Volvo's zero-emission ambitions, the EX90 exemplifies the company's commitment to sustainable and innovative automotive technology.
A Star-Studded Opening
The event was attended by high-profile figures, including representatives from Volvo for the Balkans, the Swedish Ambassador to Kosovo, and Kosovo’s Minister of Trade and Industry. Guests had the opportunity to tour the expansive showroom, now the largest of its kind in the region.
Kosovo on Volvo's Global Map
The inauguration of Volvo’s largest Balkan centre not only celebrates a significant investment but also highlights the growing automotive industry in Kosovo.
