The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that any votes cast for the late Madam Akua Donkor in the 2024 presidential election will be classified as rejected ballots.

This decision follows her unexpected passing after ballot papers had already been printed, featuring her image and the logo of her party.

The EC clarified that votes for Madam Akua Donkor will not be added to the valid votes cast, urging voters to take note of this directive.

In an official statement, the Commission reassured the public that all relevant staff and agents of the presidential candidates have been informed of the decision to ensure transparency during the counting process.

This announcement serves as a reminder for voters to consider this directive as they make their choices in the upcoming elections.
