The Minister of Aviation, Joseph Kofi Ada has announced the commencement of operations at the Wa Regional Airport in the Upper West region.

Mr Ada disclosed that the airport would be opened for commercial flights by Africa World Airlines (AWA) on October 15, 2019.

Aviation Minister, Joseph Kofi Adda, made the announcement in a statement dated September 4, 2019.

The statement indicated that the move was part of government’s commitment to promoting seamless air travel in the country.

It said commencement of the commercial flight operations is due to the successful testing and confirmation of the Pavement Condition Number (PCN) of the runway and other facilities that meet international standards of safety.
