WAFCON 2026: GFA strengthen Black Queens technical team with appointment of video analyst James Slaughter
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has strengthened the technical team of the Black Queens with the appointment of Swedish performance analyst James Slaughter as the team’s new Video Analyst ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The appointment forms part of the GFA’s efforts to reinforce the team’s backroom staff as preparations intensify for the continental tournament.
Slaughter, who is from Malmö, Sweden, brings valuable experience to the role following a successful spell with Malmö, one of Sweden’s most decorated football clubs and one of the leading teams in Scandinavian football.
As Video Analyst, he will be responsible for analysing match footage, assessing opponents, and providing tactical insights to support the coaching staff in improving the team’s overall performance.
His arrival reflects the GFA’s commitment to equipping the Black Queens with the technical expertise needed to compete at the highest level in Africa.
The Black Queens are expected to continue their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with renewed focus as they aim to challenge for continental success.
