Vice Chairman of the Premier League Board (PLB), George Amoako has joined the rallying cry for reforms in order to make 2017/18 Ghana Football season a success.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, George Amoako noted that there is a lot of room for improvement and as such the need for new legislations that will improve the development and quality of the league.

He lamented that last season’s campaign was shambolic and nothing to write home about;

“It takes a lot of money to run football so it becomes frustrating when you invest so much and gets nothing,so in a nutshell the 2017 season wasn't a good one we could have done better”

“There are problems here and there that affect the game, so, we have to make proper improvement” he said while taking full cognizance of rules and regulations on the game.

“The PLB is a sub-committee of the GFA. It has no power of its own to run the league. It can only make recommendations to the Executive Committee for approval. That’s the law and that’s what we follow.

“If we draw a programme, it has to be approved by the Executive Committee of the GFA” George Amoako stated adding that, it “creates bureaucracy” sometimes.

“Eight games are played every week. There are issues that arise out of it. Once the cases are sent to the Disciplinary Committee of the FA; your hands are tied. If it takes months to decide, the PLB has to wait. We might probably have to look at regulations here and there [to] make our game come alive with modern trends”.
