The Minister for roads and highways Kwasi Amoako Atta has bemoaned the state of deplorable roads in the country and says the NPP government is committed to improving the roads in the nation.

Most often than not angry residents all over the country have mostly resorted to all kinds of demonstration in other to bring government's attention to the state of their roads.

Some have even threatened politicians they will lose their votes if they do not fix their roads by a set time and  the Roads Minister says it is been addressed.

According to him out of about 78,000 km of roads in the country only 37% is in a good motorable shape and has described this as a shame.

Speaking in an interview with Citi Fm, he says that the Akufo-Addo led government is tackling the road sector with speed and all seriousness so people should remain calm.

"The road sector is nothing to write home about and we should bow our heads down in shame that is why the  President Akufo-Addo government is tackling the road sector with speed and all seriousness in that tangent" he stressed.
