The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has sent a notice to appointees of the Akufo-Addo administration caught in corrupt scandals that they will be investigated by the next NDC government.

“I have said it and I will say it again, for those people who have been involved in scandals and various corrupt activities in this NPP government, we shall investigate you and let the law deal with you.”

He advised that if anyone does not want to be held accountable, they should rather opt to establish their own businesses.

“Go and do your own business if you do not want to be held accountable because it’s your own investment, but if you decide that you want to come into public service, then be prepared to be held accountable.”

Addressing party supporters in Tamale during the NDC campaign launch, he assured that he would hold every appointee of the Akufo-Addo administration involved in any corrupt act accountable to the Ghanaian people.

“We will hold everybody accountable, and if you have abused your public trust, the people of Ghana will determine the sanction that will be meted out to you.”

He, however, warned appointees who will be appointed into his next government that they would not be allowed to go scot-free or be protected by the government.

“For those who wish to serve in the new administration, know that you are coming to serve in modesty and honesty, and so as we hold the previous government accountable for wrongdoing, if you serve in the John Mahama government and you engage in corrupt activities, you will also be punished.”
