Former Ghana Football Association vice president George Afriyie has joined the deafening chorus for the sack of 68 year old Serbian trainer, Milovan Rajevac following Ghana's disastrous showing at the on going African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

This follows the team's poor showing at the ongoing African Cup of Nations(AFCON)tournament in Cameroon.

Ghana suffered the ignominy of exiting the tournament at the group stages after a 3-2 defeat to lowly ranked Comoros Island.

In a group which contains Morocco, Gabon and Comoros Island, the Black Stars finished bottom of the group with just a point.

The former Ghana FA vice president has made a case for local coaches to be considered for the Black Stars top job as he claims we have the men.

“For me, George Boateng is fantastic, Otoo Addo super, Tanko Ibrahim super, Kwasi Appiah super, CK super. They can all do it. We have the men”, George Afriyie listed some top Ghanaian coaches who can replace Milovan Rajevac when he is sacked.

He also clamoured for coaches in the Ghana Premier League to be offered the chance to be assistant coaches of the Black Stars.

“Locally we have the men but because they don’t have the national experience…if not we can get a lot of coaches in our local league but they should be considered as assistant coaches.

“Annor Walker, Tanko of RTU, Nuru of King Faisal. They should be considered as assistant coaches, they are doing very very well and even Kotoko coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum. He is a good coach. He’s doing well. If they cannot be considered they can be considered as assistant coaches because they have to start from somewhere and be groomed.”
