There is a perception that has been created to suggest that the current Ghana Football Association hates Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

According some conspiracy theories, Kurt Okraku who contested with Nana Yaw Amponsah now Kotoko CEO for the GFA hot seat during the October 2019 GFA elections is willing to do everything within his power to ensure that the current Kotoko CEO fails so that he will not compete him during his bid for re-election in 2023 when his term expires.

The GFA has in the past clashed with Asante Kotoko with their use of VEO cutting edge technology cameras while some Kotoko faithfuls raised  doubts about their fixture scheduling while they were competing in Africa.

Speaking about the issue in an interview on Kumasi based Gye Nyame FM, Henry Asante Twum who is the Communications Director for the GFA poured cold water on those sentiments saying what will be the interest of the GFA hating on Kotoko.

"The GFA has positioned itself strategically not to be drawn into controversies so if you have realized, they throw things into the media space and their supporters talk about it.

It is not as if we cannot talk,I know how to talk very well but sometimes as a leader you have to pretend and pay deaf ears to some of these things."

"The GFA must not be seen to have a tangle with its member in public that is why sometimes we keep mute.

What will be our interest in hating Kotoko. All I’m trying to say is that sometimes you just have to ignore some of these things just because we must make progress," he concluded.
