Former Hearts of Oak player and coach, Mohammed Polo says that juju or black magic exist in football and more especially in Hearts of Oak vs Kotoko clashes.

But he says that it has no significant bearing on the game and its just a psychological ploy to trump the opponent and has no material effect on the game.

He has however warned player who rely on juju to desist from it as in football the main characters on the pitch is you the player and juju has no significance on the pitch.

The dribbling magician was speaking in an interview about the Kotoko vs Hearts game on Kumasi based Akoma Fm on a conference call with former Asante Kotoko player and coach Stephen Frimpong Manso.

"Whatever has a name in this world exist but sometimes some people over do it and it brings problems."

"But If you will use juju to play football it won’t help you but it’s a normal thing that is done in football we all pray before we play football because we believe God exist."

"Because when it comes to prayer how a Christian play is different from a Muslim but everyone believes in prayers and there is a general way of prayers for footballers."

According to Polo, what we normally refer to as juju is just a form of prayers which takes different forms, shapes per ones religion.

"But the difference is that there are different ways mallams and pastors pray they sometimes apply some water and concoctions but it’s a normal thing everyone does and I think it has no bearing and with me I never relied on it."

"But with some people If they do it and it does not bring result they begin to think about it but me I was not like that but with players everyone prays."

"In football anything is possible and sometimes things can happen that you will never understand but it does exist and is in football but that should not overcome you because in football the main actor is the players."

"You just concentrate on your talent and what your coach has told you and you will be ok." he added.
