Aston Villa have stamped their authority on keeping the young Ghanaian international at the Villa Park ahead of their Championship opener on Saturday.

Jordan Ayew who donned the No.19 jersey for Aston Villa last season has been given the iconic No.10 jersey by the club after finishing the season as the club's top goalscorer.

This move comes as a blow to the increasing number of teams seeking the signature of the striker. Notable of the linked teams is Westham who have been speculated to be also interested in signing the player's senior brother Andre Ayew.

The relegated EPL side Aston Villa start their season at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
