Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana faculty of Law, Prof. Raymond Atuguba has stated that, the demands for lawyers to put on wigs, gowns an bibs while arguing in courts in the country is uncalled for considering the high level temperatures in the country.

He said the act is exposing the health of lawyers in the country to heat stroke and mental fatigue among others  when the temperatures hit as high as 40 degrees Celsius in the country.

He made the statement while delivering a public lecturer at the University of Cape Coast.

He said, “Sometimes the temperature in Ghana exceeds 40 degrees Celsius, so the people who gave us the wigs and gowns are afraid to keep it on in temperatures we endure everyday. Yet the leaders of our fraternity have ordered that we continue to rob leaving us open to heat stroke, mental fatigue and also sorts of avoidable taxes on our bodies and minds.
