Champions Hasaacas Ladies dropped points on Sunday after coming from behind to draw 2-2 against Police at the Gyandu Park in Sekondi. The Champions have a test against new entrants Faith Ladies at the Carl Reindolf Park in Dansoman while Berry Ladies travel to Elmina to play Sea Lions. Here is a quick preview of matches in the Southern Zone.

SEA LIONS X BERRY LADIES

Sea Lions will host Berry Ladies at the Ndoum Stadium on Saturday after their one all drawn game against Immigration Ladies last weekend. The Elmina based side took the lead just a minute into the game through their skipper Theresa Ackon Cobbinah but their celebration was curtailed after Rumanatu Tahiru leveled things up in the 69th minute. Sea Lions have 3 points from their last three matches and would aim to record their first victory this season - while Berry Ladies 5th in the table began the season with a 4-0 thrashing of Army Ladies. Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo’s side were humbled by Police Ladies 2-0 on Match Day two before settling 1-1 with Faith Ladies last weekend. Even though the strength of both teams is even, Freeman Amponsah's side would definitely start the game as favourites due to their strong home record.

POLICE LADIES X THUNDER QUEENS

The McDan La Town Park in Accra will be the centre of attraction when much fancied Police Ladies host Thunder Queens in an epic encounter on Saturday.

The ‘Service Ladies’ showed real resolve to dig deep in Takoradi as they held Champions Hasaacas Ladies to a 2-2 drawn game at the Gyandu Park. Thunder Queens have not been consistent in the League but have shown glimpses of quality. Even though this Police Ladies side are a free scoring one, Striker Vivian Adjei  Konadu will be looking to add more goals to her tally on the day. The atmosphere is sure to be raucous and any of the sides that take their chances would run away with all the three points.

SOCCER INTELLECTUALS X IMMIGRATION LADIES

The Adu Yaw-Assan Park at Ajumako will host the game between Soccer Intellectuals and Immigration Ladies. Both teams have been poor as they have gone 3 weeks without a win – as they have bagged a paltry 2 points each from a possible 9 and lie 8th and 9th in the Southern Zonal League table. Soccer Intellectuals were battered 3-1 by Regional rivals Lady Strikers in Week 3 f the League at the Robert Mensah Park in Cape Coast whilst Immigration laboured to pick a point at home against Sea Lions. The two sides would deem this fixture very crucial and would go all out to annex all the points at stake to lift themselves up the league ladder.

 FAITH LADIES X HASAACAS LADIES

The WPL newbies will be hoping to make a big statement for themselves when they play defending champions Hasaacas Ladies at the Dansoman Carl Reindolf Park. This will be the first time both sides will be meeting each other in the league. Faith Ladies go into the game as the only newly promoted side in the southern zone yet to taste defeat. They have won one game and drawn two, having netted 6 times and conceded twice - Hasaacas Ladies are also unbeaten, winning two games and drawing one. The defending champions have scored nine goals in the opening three games and conceded three. The likes of Lilian Serinye Goli, Jennifer Kankam Yeboah and Adjoa Donkor will be the main force upfront while Veronica Appiah, Blessing Shine Agbomadzi and Doris Boaduwaa hold the fort for the visitors.

ARMY LADIES X LADYSTRIKERS

Second-placed Ladystrikers, who have lost one game this season, would face bottom side Army Ladies at the El-Wak sports stadium on Saturday December 8. Army Ladies are yet to win a match and would seek to make amends when they host the Cape Coast based club. The visitors who  are on 6 points behind leaders, Hasaacas Ladies Ladystrikers have already shown enough to suggest that they are up for the fight in the top-flight will waste no time to deepen the woes of Army Ladies. Army Ladies could count on their return to their favourite grounds – the El-Wak Sports Stadium for the first time in the season.
