Young and fast-rising Ghanaian actress, Xandy Kamel, has grabbed a prestigious award at the just-ended The Nigeria Glam Awards held in Lagos recently.

The event recorded the attendance of popular Nigerian actors and industry players including Mercy Macjoe, Benson Okonkwo, Cosy Ojiokor, and many others.

Xandy won in this category, which had four others contending for the award.

The beautiful actress was excited about the feat and could not hide her joy.

She expressed gratitude to the event organisers for acknowledging her effort even though she was not a Nigerian.

Xandy also dedicated the award to her late father, Henry Ford Kamel, a former MP in the Mills-Mahama administration.

According to her, the month of December had always been a troubling one for her because the father died on December 25.

Therefore, the award was going to replace her lost joy for this year and counting.

“I want to thank the organisers for this award. This tells me that they actually look beyond Nigeria, and also look beyond the make-up. I also dedicate this award to my late father who gave me a new meaning for Christmas. He died on 25th December,” Xandy said.

She has featured in a lot of movies both in Ghana and Nigeria.

In Nigeria, she has featured in movies including Missing Gold, Only You, Father Ibraham, the very movie which fetched her the award, and many more.

The movies she has featured in in Ghana also include Teacher Kojo, Lil Win and Banku go to school, and many more.
