Former Hearts of Oak assistant coach Yaw Preko has professed his readiness to take charge as head coach of Nigerian side Ifeanyi Uba if given the opportunity.

The Nigerian outfit recently parted ways with Japanese tactician Kenichi Yatsuhashi after he failed to win in any of his first two matches. Yaw Preko was hired as assistant coach of the club based on the recommendation of Yatsuhashi, but has been acting as a stop-gap coach after the Japanese left his post.

The former Hearts of Oak player and assistant coach however insists he is ready to test himself as the head coach of Ifeanyi Uba if given the chance.

For now I have been asked to work as the interim head Coach, so I’m waiting on what the management will say,” Yaw Preko said in an interview with Happy Fm.

I am waiting on their decision, if they ask me to be the substantive head Coach I will surely embrace it so let’s just wait and see what happens.”

Yaw Preko worked as an assistant coach to Kenichi Yatsuhashi at Hearts of Oak and will be hoping to succeed the departed Japanese at Nigerian side Ifeanyi Uba.
