Deputy Speaker of Youth Parliament, Queen Boresah Iddisah-Jeduah today, Monday [April 23 2018], met with  the 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament and the longest serving legislator in the history of Ghana, Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin

The close-door meeting was mainly to discuss about the youth of Ghana and the African youth at large.

Ghana endorsed the African Youth Charter as a response to combating the increasing disconnection of the African youth from the processes of democratic governance, since July 2006, with 30 other African Heads of States.

It is in response to this that Tears of Africa, a UK based NGO in partnership with other NGOs launched a youth empowerment project through the creation of a parliament dubbed: Youth Leadership Parliament (YLP).

Youth Parliament is a platform for young people between the ages of 15-40 years. It's an opportunity for the youth of Ghana to hold leaders accountable for the management of state resources and to engages policy makers on core issues that impact on the future of the youth of Ghana.

Today's meeting, which was the first between the two deputy speakers in recent times, lasted ‘successful’, and was held in a good atmosphere, one of frank exchanges and mutual respect.

“It was a hot and sunny afternoon, but we had a successful meeting. Deputy Speaker of Ghana's Parliament Hon. S.K. Bagbin with Deputy Speaker of Youth Parliament Queen Boresah”, Queen wrote on Facebook.
