Yusif Basigi, coach of the Black Princesses, has called on the Ghanaian government to provide formal contractual agreements to national team coaches, extending beyond just the Black Stars coach.

Basigi highlighted the challenges faced by national team coaches and stressed the need for government intervention to address these issues effectively.

Basigi pointed out that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) lacks the capacity to manage contractual matters on its own.

"When it comes to contract matters, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) cannot handle them," Basigi told Onua FM.

"If they are to enter contracts with coaches, it will be a worry. It is the government that must pay attention to us because the national team belongs to the government, and the GFA is a caretaker.

So, the government should turn attention to us because we are suffering," he added.

As Basigi prepares to lead the Black Princesses to the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, he remains focused on ensuring his team is ready for the challenge.

Ghana, placed in Group E, will compete against Japan, New Zealand, and Austria.

The team is determined to break their streak of six consecutive failures to advance past the group stage of the Women's World Cup.

Basigi's appeal underscores the broader issue of adequate support and formal recognition for all national team coaches, emphasizing that such measures are crucial for the development and success of Ghana's football teams.
