Zlatan Ibrahimovic hit a brace on his Old Trafford debut on Friday night as Manchester United eased pass Southampton with a 2:0 scoreline.

All eyes were on Manchester United record signing Paul Pogba who looked to steal the show on his much anticipated debut match for the Red Devils but Zlatan in typical fashion run the show with a goal in each half of the match to ensure that the former enjoyed the first home win of his Old Trafford return.

The ex-Swedish international nearly put Mourinho's side in the lead in the 29th minute via a Juan Mata headed pass but his overhead attempt veered over the bar.

It took only 7 minutes for the talismanic forward to make amends with a well headed effort into the gaping Southampton goal post after rising above the visitors defence in "Zlatanic" style.

Paul Pogba also produced an element of his price tag with an interesting run into the Southampton half, dancing between defenders to the delight of the home fans and his manager.

The Red Devils came back from the break with a one nil lead in hand.

Zlatan added to his tally through a well placed penalty kick in the low corner after Luke Shaw was clumsily tripped in the box.

Manchester United have recorded three wins out of three so far under former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho including a Community Shield.
