Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President George Afriyie has expressed strong confidence in the Black Stars’ chances at the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting that Ghana can overcome all three of their group opponents.

Drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, Ghana will be making their fifth World Cup appearance next summer in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

“England, Croatia, and Panama are all beatable.” He told Asempa FM  in an interview as he acknowledged the quality of Ghana’s group rivals. He also insisted the national team has what it takes to secure victories against each of them.

On preparation:

“Playing high-profile friendlies is the right approach ahead of the World Cup.” Afriyie acknowledged the quality of Ghana’s rivals but stressed that with proper preparation, the Black Stars have the tools to secure victories.
