Akufo-Addo Must Apologize for NPP’s Defeat – Hon. Obeng Takyi
9th December 2024
Hon. George Obeng Takyi, the outgoing MP for Manso Nkwanta, has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to publicly accept responsibility for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 elections.
He attributed the loss to divisions within the party, particularly following the NPP primaries.
Obeng Takyi accused President Akufo-Addo of playing a "scheming role" during the selection process, which caused party fractures and alienated grassroots supporters.
He believes that these actions led to discontent among party members, which contributed to the NPP's poor electoral performance.
He urged the president to apologize to Ghanaians for his role in the primaries.
