Alhaji Grusah, owner of King Faisal FC, has called upon Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to investigate allegations of mismanagement by Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) following their recent friendly match against DC United in the USA.

Grusah's concerns stem from the controversial absconding of two Sudanese players, Esmat Abdalhamid and Abdoel Karem Yagoub, who disappeared just a day before the match.

CCTV footage reportedly shows the players being picked up by a car after leaving their hotel.

The pair were part of a group of nine players and five officials who traveled to the United States on October 9, 2024, for the match.

Grusah criticized the IMC for sending an incomplete squad, noting that this lack of planning played a role in the incident.

He believes the officials responsible should face accountability to maintain the integrity of Ghanaian football.

"Otumfuo Osei Tutu II should investigate the mismanagement by Asante Kotoko's IMC during the DC United friendly.

Their decision to send players without a full squad led to the unfortunate absconding of two Sudanese players.

The officials must be held accountable," Grusah stated in an interview with Oyerepa FM in Kumasi.

Prior to the trip, Asante Kotoko faced visa issues, resulting in several players being denied entry to the US.

As a result, the team partnered with a Ghanaian select side in the USA to form a full squad. Despite the challenges, Kotoko won the match 2-1 against DC United at Audi Field.
