Ghana football legend Asamoah Gyan has tipped a blockbuster final between Argentina and Germany at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, predicting that the European giants will ultimately lift the trophy.

‎In an interview with One Football, the former Black Stars captain cited Germany’s experience and winning pedigree as key factors in their potential success.

“Argentina and Germany are my picks for the World Cup final, and Germany to win,” Gyan said confidently.

‎Despite favouring football’s traditional powerhouses, Gyan expressed optimism about Ghana’s chances in the expanded tournament.

Africa’s all-time leading World Cup scorer suggested that the Black Stars could emerge as one of the surprise packages of the competition, which will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

‎Gyan also shared his prediction for the Golden Boot, naming France’s Kylian Mbappé as his favourite to finish as the tournament’s top scorer. “Ghana will be the dark horse of the tournament, and Kylian Mbappé will be the top scorer,” he added.

The 2026 World Cup promises to be the largest in history, with Gyan’s early predictions adding intrigue to the pre-tournament buzz.

His comments blend respect for the established powers of world football with belief in Ghana’s potential to defy expectations.
