The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially approved the schedule for the 2026/27 football season, setting out a comprehensive roadmap for domestic competitions across the country.

‎The new season will run from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, in line with the FA’s statutes and financial calendar. The move is aimed at ensuring consistency and providing a clear structure for clubs, players, and stakeholders.

‎The calendar will cover all major competitions, including the Ghana Premier League, the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and the Access Bank Division One League. It also incorporates key knockout tournaments such as the MTN FA Cup and the Women’s FA Cup.

‎Regional Football Association competitions are expected to operate within the same timeframe, a step the GFA says will help deepen grassroots participation and support the development of talent nationwide.

‎By announcing the schedule as early as March 2026, the GFA hopes to give clubs sufficient time to prepare, particularly as the upcoming season will coincide with a FIFA World Cup year. The early release is seen as part of broader efforts to improve organisation and competitiveness within Ghanaian football.
