Ghana national football team have named their starting line-up for the international friendly against Austria national football team, with goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi handed a starting role in Vienna.
Ati Zigi’s inclusion marks his first appearance for the Black Stars since May 2025, when he featured against Trinidad and Tobago in the Unity Cup. His return comes as Ghana look to test their squad depth against strong European opposition.
Head coach Otto Addo has named a blend of experience and emerging talent in his line-up, with senior figures such as Thomas Partey and captain Jordan Ayew expected to play key roles. Attacking options including Antoine Semenyo and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku are also included as Ghana aim to pose a threat going forward.
The match, taking place at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium, forms part of Ghana’s preparations ahead of the 2026 World Cup, offering the technical team an opportunity to assess player form and combinations at a high level.
With another demanding fixture against Germany to follow, the encounter against Austria provides an early test of the Black Stars’ readiness as they continue to fine-tune their squad for the global stage.
