Avoid repeating the mistakes of 2016 and 2020 by voting NPP - JM to Ghanaians
18th November 2024
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has urged Ghanaians to avoid repeating the electoral decisions of 2016 and 2020, which he believes contributed to the nation’s current challenges. He emphasized the need for change during a mini rally held at the Nsawam Adoagyiri lorry station.
Addressing supporters as he commenced a five-day tour of the Eastern Region on Monday, November 18, Mahama expressed confidence in the people’s readiness to bring the NDC back to power. He also pointed out that many supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) are disillusioned with the party’s leadership and its governance record.
“In 2016, we made a wrong choice. In 2020, we repeated that choice, but I know that on December 7, 2024, we are going to correct the mistake that we made and bring the NDC back into government,” Mahama declared, rallying his audience for support.
He further stressed the impact of voters’ decisions on the nation’s development, saying, “At all times, everyone wants a good life and development. There are consequences to our choices: if we vote well, there will be freedom and development; but if we don’t, there will be hardships. So, December 7th is another opportunity to right the wrong by voting for the NDC.”
Mahama’s remarks highlight his belief in the NDC’s ability to deliver better governance and his appeal to Ghanaians to embrace change for a brighter future.
