Barça Athletic confirm the departure of Abdul Aziz Issah after loan spell

Barça Athletic have parted ways with Ghanaian youngster, Abdul Aziz Issah after a season-long loan from Dreams FC.
Ghana U20 star, Abdul Aziz Issah has today, June 30, parted ways with Barcelona Athletic alongside other six players after the club announced in a statement:
“The players Pau Prim, Percan, Piera, Aziz, Rubén López, Cedric and Pedro Soma end their contracts on 30 June will leave Barça Atlètic. As such, their time in the FC Barcelona youth set up comes to an end.”
“The Club would like to thank them for their dedication and professionalism during this time and wishes them all the best for the future on and off the field.”
The 19-year old Ghanaian had a good stint with the Blaugrana outfit, gathering lots of experience and learning valuable lessons when he was called up alongside compatriot, David Oduro when they were once called upon to train with the first team.
The club confirmed the departure of the player in the statement, alongside the other players who had their loan spells exhausted.
“Rubén López, Cedric, Pedro Soma and Aziz return to their parent after spending the season with Barça Atlètic. Rubén López goes back to Deportivo La Coruña after making 35 appearances, scoring twice and providing two assists. Cedric returns to UD Las Palmas after 29 games for Barça Atlètic and eight goals and three assists.
Pedro Soma made 28 appearances in midfield and now goes back to Cornellà whilst Aziz returns to Dream FC in Ghana after two appearances as a blaugrana.”
The Ghanaian international played in two games for the club, coming on as substitute for both games and amassing just 26 minutes in his entire loan spell at the Blaugrana club since joining in November 2024.
Abdul Aziz featured in the 2025 U20 African Youth Championship in Egypt where he starred and clinched the Man of the Match awards twice in the tournament where Ghana got eliminated at the quarterfinals by hosts, Egypt in a penalty shootout.
The Dreams FC silky youngster won the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Male Footballer of the Year award. He was also named the Rising Star of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards. Additionally, he was nominated for the CAF Young Player of the Year award.
He also won the Rising Star of the Year award at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards after a remarkable outing in the 2024 CAF Confederations Cup where his goal was nominated for the best goal of the year at the 2024 CAF Awards.
