Berekum Chelsea owner Bernard Nana Yaw Amofa Jantuah has announced that the club has extended Samuel Boadu’s contract, retaining him as head coach for the next two years.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Kessben FM, the club President confirmed the extension of Boadu's contract.

"We should have won the Ghana Premier League title last season but our coach left us in the second round, which derailed our chances.

We have signed two-year deal with coach Samuel Boadu and the focus now is to win the league title next season."

This decision follows Boadu’s successful interim stint last season, where he led the team to a third-place finish in the Ghana Premier League with 51 points, tying with second-placed Accra Lions.

Boadu took over from Christopher Ennin in the middle of the season after Ennin’s resignation.

Despite the mid-season change impacting their title chances, Jantuah expressed confidence in Boadu’s ability to lead the team to greater heights.

He emphasized that the club's focus is now on winning the league title in the upcoming season.

In preparation for the new campaign, Berekum Chelsea’s pre-season is underway in Kumasi.

However, the club recently withdrew from the GHALCA Top 4 tournament, despite being eligible to participate. The team is determined to make a strong start when the new season begins next month.
