Black Queens beat Hong Kong 4-0 in Pink Ladies cup opener
28th February 2026
Ghana’s Black Queens delivered an assured and attacking masterclass as they opened their Pink Ladies cup campaign with a commanding 4-0 win over Hong Kong.
From the first whistle, the Queens signalled their intent, controlling possession and pressing with purpose. Their early dominance paid off in the 28th minute when Princess unleashed a powerful long-range strike, her first clear sight of goal to give Ghana the lead.
The pressure continued to mount, and just before half-time Doris doubled the advantage. A low cross from the left found her in space, and she calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 at the break.
After the restart, Ghana wasted little time extending their lead. In the 47th minute, Chantelle latched onto a precise through ball, splitting the Hong Kong defence before finishing neatly to make it three.
There was a brief moment of frustration in the 53rd minute when Doris won a penalty but saw her effort saved, the ball parried away by the Hong Kong goalkeeper.
However, any disappointment was short-lived.
In the 87th minute, debutant Ajegipena put the result beyond doubt, finding the back of the net to cap an impressive team performance and mark her introduction in style.
At full-time, the scoreline reflected Ghana’s dominance 4-0 in a performance defined by composure, attacking quality and defensive discipline.
For the Black Queens, it was the perfect start and a statement of intent as they continue their journey in the tournament.
