Black Queens draw bye in 2020 Women Afcon qualifiers

The last time the women Afcon was held in Ghana in 2018 the number of team had been increased from 16 to a whooping 24 teams.
It was the first time the Women's nations cup had seen such an increase in numbers.
The Black Queens have been given a bye in the 2020 Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers during a draw ceremony held in Cairo, Egypt.
There will be a new record regarding women football, as 36 teams confirmed their participation in the 2020 Women Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers when the draw was held in Cairo, Egypt on Wednesday (4 December 2019).
The previous largest number of participating teams was 24 in the Ghana 2018 Women AFCON qualifiers, which means twelve more teams will take part in the 2020 edition of the women showpiece,
The first round of qualifiers takes place in April 2020, with the qualification series reaching an end in June 2020. The final tournament is set to be staged between 23 November and 1 December 2020.
For the first time, twelve teams will take part in the finals of the 12th edition of the tournament instead of eight teams as it was the case before.
South Africa, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Morocco, Mali, Ghana, Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire received a bye to the second round.
