Chelsea legend Pat Nevin is not convinced Callum Hudson-Odoi is necessarily good enough to move to Bayern Munich right now.

The gifted youngster looks likely to join the Bundesliga champions this month, having struggled for playing time under Maurizio Sarri.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Nevin said Hudson-Odoi’s lack of first team football for Chelsea is an indicator that he will not feature much for Bayern:

“You don’t get a special brief because you are born in a certain country and, clearly, he’s not good enough to walk into Bayern’s first team just now because he can’t get into Chelsea’s.

”But if you think you’re good enough to get a game at Chelsea next year, it wouldn’t be a bad thing to stay and have a go at that.

”Right now, he might be dithering [about a decision]. He’ll know the answer by next season and that won’t be too late”

Hudson-Odoi is seen as one of English football’s brightest talents, with Bayern’s interest summing up his potential.

He could go the same way as Jadon Sancho and head to Germany, with the former Manchester City youngster enjoying a superb season with Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern Munich are looking to strengthen in wide areas, with experienced duo Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery set to depart the club at the end of the season.
