Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has backed misfiring strikers Jordan Ayew and Alexander Sorloth to get in among the goals soon.

Ayew has failed to register a goal in all competitions for the Selhurst Park outfit since joining in the summer, while Sorloth has only scored once for the Eagles since signing in January, with his solitary strike coming against Swansea City in the Carabao Cup in August.

But Hodgson insists that both are working hard on the training ground - and that their rewards will come.

"I am not concerned in the sense that I am worried that these two players don't understand what their jobs are and what they need to do to get better and score some goals, I am not worried at all," he said.

"But of course I shall be more than happy, like all supporters of my club, when those goals start to go in, because it will be great for the player concerned and his confidence will grow, and he will feel it is reward for the work he is putting in each day on the training field.

The Ghanaian international will be hoping to break his scoring duck next weekend when Palace welcome Tottenham in the Premier League.
