Major League Soccer (MLS) team D.C. United will square off against the Ghana Week DC Select Side in the much-anticipated Capital City Africa Cup on Saturday, October 12, at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. The match is set to kick off at 6 p.m. ET.

The event forms part of the broader Ghana Week celebrations, a festival promoting Ghanaian culture, tourism, and sports across the DMV (D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) area.

The showcase match will serve as a cultural bridge, highlighting the strong ties between Ghana, the United States, and the African diaspora.

Due to visa complications for Asante Kotoko players, the Ghana Week DC Select Side was assembled with players from other Ghana Premier League teams and top Ghanaian players based in the U.S.

The roster will include seven Asante Kotoko players, two from Division One’s Attram De Visser FC, and other local talents.

The match is the centerpiece of the week-long Ghana Week, a celebration that enhances the connection between Ghana and the African diaspora through sports, culture, and community engagement.
