The FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber has delivered a significant ruling in favor of Ghanaian forward Augustine Okrah, mandating Young Africans SC (Yanga SC) to pay USD 24,400 in outstanding wages owed to the player.

This decision arises from a payment dispute that occurred during Okrah’s tenure with the Tanzanian club.

In addition to the payment to Okrah, FIFA has imposed a fine of USD 3,000 on Yanga SC, which must be settled within 30 days.

Failure to comply with this ruling within 45 days could lead to more severe penalties, including a ban on registering new players for up to three transfer windows.

Young Africans SC may also face further disciplinary measures from FIFA if they continue to disregard the payment order.

Since his departure from Yanga, Augustine Okrah has joined Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League.

This case underscores the critical importance of adhering to contractual obligations between clubs and players, as well as FIFA's role in ensuring fair treatment and compensation for athletes on an international scale.
