GFA Commends fans for strong support in Black Stars’ draw against Sudan
11th October 2024
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed deep appreciation to the passionate supporters who filled the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, 2024, for the Black Stars’ Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan.
Despite Ghana dominating possession and creating multiple chances, the match ended in a goalless draw, as the Black Stars were once again held by their North African opponents.
The result leaves Ghana’s qualification hopes for the 2025 AFCON in jeopardy, raising concerns about the possibility of missing the tournament for the first time since 2014.
In an official statement, the GFA acknowledged the fans’ overwhelming presence and unwavering support throughout the match.
While the result was disappointing, the association praised the dedication of the fans and called for continued backing as the team fights to secure a spot in the upcoming AFCON tournament.
