GFA Executive Council to decide Otto Addo’s future following Black Stars’ AFCON failure

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council is set to meet today, November 27, to evaluate Black Stars head coach Otto Addo’s performance and determine whether he will continue in his role.
This follows Ghana's dismal failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time since 2004.
The Black Stars concluded their Group F campaign without a single victory, finishing last with three points from three draws and three losses—a historic low for the four-time African champions.
Amid widespread criticism from fans and stakeholders, Otto Addo recently submitted his technical report to the GFA, which will form the basis of the Council’s discussions.
An official GFA statement announced:
“The Executive Council will meet the Head Coach of the Black Stars, Mr. Otto Addo, on the 27th of November, 2024, to discuss his technical report on the just-ended AFCON qualifiers and the overall performance of the technical team since assuming duty earlier this year.”
The Black Stars’ Management Committee was dissolved last week in response to the team’s poor results, signaling broader restructuring efforts.
With the next competitive fixtures—against Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers—scheduled for March, the GFA has a window of opportunity to make critical changes aimed at revitalizing the national team.
