A minute’s silence will be observed at this weekend’s MTN FA Cup semi-finals and the Women’s Premier League final in honour of late footballer Dominic Frimpong.

The directive was issued by the Ghana Football Association, following the tragic death of the 20-year-old, who was shot during an armed robbery attack after a recent league fixture.

All participating clubs have been instructed to observe the tribute ahead of kick-off at the Swedru Sports Stadium, where both the FA Cup semi-finals and the Women’s Premier League final will be staged.

Players will also wear black armbands throughout the matches as a mark of respect.

Frimpong’s death has sent shockwaves through Ghanaian football, prompting widespread tributes from clubs, officials and supporters. The planned observances are part of efforts to honour his memory and show solidarity with his family, teammates and the wider football community.
