Ghana’s Otto Addo gears up for high-stakes encounter against Kwesi Appiah's Sudan
10th October 2024
Ghana's head coach, Otto Addo, is bracing for a critical showdown against Sudan, led by former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, at the Accra Sports Stadium this afternoon.
The match carries significant weight, especially with Appiah's return as an opposing manager, adding a compelling subplot to an already tense encounter.
Despite a challenging start to their AFCON qualifiers, where Ghana currently sits third in Group F with only one point from two matches, the Black Stars find themselves in a must-win situation.
On the other hand, Sudan enters the match as the favored side, further increasing the pressure on Ghana to secure a victory.
The first leg of this doubleheader is set for today, October 10, followed by the return leg on October 15 in Benina, Libya.
These matches were rescheduled from their original dates of October 11 and 14.
With their hopes of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco hanging by a thread, Addo’s team is determined to achieve back-to-back wins over Sudan to enhance their chances of reaching the prestigious tournament.
