Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has played down any pressure surrounding his side’s crucial Week 9 Ghana Premier League fixture against Aduana FC, set for Saturday at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

The match promises to be a high-stakes showdown between two former league champions, with both teams vying for the top spot. Aduana currently lead the table with 18 points—just one ahead of Medeama after eight games.

Speaking to MEDi TV ahead of the encounter, Tanko acknowledged Aduana’s strength but expressed confidence in his team’s form and mentality.

“Like any other game, we are playing away, but I think we play like we are at home. Aduana have done very good recruitment, they have a very good team, but we are also Medeama. We are in good form and we are going there either to win or take a point,” he said.

“In general, we are expecting a good game. First and second clubs, only one point difference. Like I said, they made very good recruitment just like us and are playing very good football. Definitely, the details will decide the game—and this is what we are working for.”

Medeama have enjoyed a strong start to the season, recording five wins, two draws, and just one defeat on the road.
