Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko has described his side’s upcoming Ghana Premier League encounter with Asante Kotoko as a defining moment in their season.

Speaking ahead of the Week 29 fixture, Tanko emphasised the urgency for his team to return to winning ways, particularly with the advantage of playing at home.

‎Medeama have struggled for consistency in recent weeks, managing just one win in their last five matches, alongside two draws and two defeats. The run has placed added pressure on the team to deliver a strong performance on Sunday.

‎“I think playing Kotoko is always a big game, not only because of the name, but because of where we are in the league now,” Tanko told Medi TV. “Every game is very important, and we are playing at home. We want to control the game, we want to win, and definitely we want to keep the three points here.”

‎Despite the challenges, the former Ghana international expressed confidence in his squad’s preparation, insisting they are ready to rise to the occasion.

‎“It’s not going to be easy, but we’ve trained very well this week and I hope the boys will make it happen,” he added.

‎Their opponents, Kotoko, are also searching for form, having recorded one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five outings. The inconsistency on both sides sets up what promises to be a tightly contested encounter.

‎With both teams aiming to climb the table, Sunday’s clash could prove pivotal in shaping their campaigns as the season approaches its final stretch.
