Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has urged the club’s supporters to turn up in numbers at the stadium to back the team, emphasizing that physical presence is vital and cannot be replaced by online support.
The Phobians extended their impressive run with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Karela United in a tricky Ghana Premier League week 11 encounter at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
An early strike from Hamza Issah just two minutes into the match secured all three points for the visitors.
This win marks Hearts of Oak’s third consecutive triumph, boosting their position to fourth place on the league table with 18 points, just four points shy of current leaders, Nations FC.
In a post-match interview with Globe TV, Coach Ouattara expressed the team’s commitment to playing for their supporters’ joy and reiterated the importance of visible fan support at matches.
“I always tell supporters everywhere I go that we always play for them. If they are happy, we are too,” Ouattara said.
He called on the fans to physically attend matches and support the team, adding, “Now we need them to come for the next game, to come in numbers to encourage the team.
No team only on Facebook or social media, but come to the stadium in numbers too, follow the boys and encourage them.”
Hearts of Oak are set to face Nsoatreman FC in their next match on November 22 at the University of Ghana Stadium, where they will aim to maintain their winning momentum and continue their push up the league standings.
