Fante rapper Kofi Kinaata, has revealed that he has been issuing exorbitant charges to artistes whose music is of low standard to avoid featuring on the songs.

According to the 'Susuka' hitmaker, in the music industry, an artiste brand is his worth. The bigger it gets, the more musicians charge others to use their brand, especially for feature verses.

The Rapper told Miss Betty on the Swift Show on Pan Africa TV that for doubt of reducing his brand to nothing, he will demand a high price from artiste who wants featuring to scare them.

“To avoid featuring on a low-quality song for a colleague artiste, I charge hugely to scare him. I do that because I don’t want to devalue my brand featuring on songs that my fans will be disappointed to hear.”

Kofi Kinaata in recent times has been accused of failing to feature in numerous top collaborations with various artistes.

Born Martin King Arthur, Kofi Kinaata is a musician and songwriter from Takoradi. He is noted for his fante rap and freestyle and therefore known as the Fante Rap God (FRG).

Samini and Tony Pun signed Kofi Kinaata unto the Samini Music/ High Grade Family record label in 2013. Kofi Kinaata left the label in 2018 after his 5-year contract with the management ended.
