Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay has fired back at critics who accuse her of undergoing cosmetic surgery to enhance her curves, particularly her backside.
In a strongly worded social media post accompanied by a video showing off her figure, the singer questioned the widespread assumption that any African woman with a voluptuous shape must have had a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
“So y’all want to tell me before BBL, Africans didn’t have a natural shape like mine?” she wrote. “What’s with this BBL tag? Is it because I’ve gained at the right places?”
Shay, who has faced persistent trolling online regarding her physique, dismissed the rumors and insisted her body is entirely natural.
“What you are seeing is 100% natural,” she emphasized. “It’s not my fault y’all didn’t realize it earlier because of the bullying when I stepped in the game. I’ve got it since!”
The “Survivor” hitmaker added that no matter what a woman looks like, people will always have something to say.
“It’s either your booty is too big or too small or too fake,” she wrote. “Mind your business! Africa, wake up!”
Her statement has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans applauding her confidence and others questioning the post’s tone. Nonetheless, Wendy Shay continues to defend her image and shut down critics who attempt to undermine her body confidence.
