I haven't picked Zanetor Rawlings as running mate; ignore false story - Mahama

The campaign team for former President John Mahama has described as false reports claiming that denied the former President has chosen, daughter of Former President Rawlings, Dr Zanetor Rawlings as his running mate for the 2020 presidential elections.

John Mahama is contesting with over 10 other persons for the flagbearership position of the NDC to lead the party into the 2020 elections.

Although the NDC internal election is yet to be held, there have been speculations within the media space, especially on social media, that John Mahama has named Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, who is also the member of Parliament for Klottey Korle as his running mate to snatch power from the NPP government.

A statement from Mr Mahama’s Campaign Office signed by spokesperson James Agyenim-Boateng on Wednesday, 7 October 2018, asked the public to disregard the speculations.

“Former President John Dramani Mahama has become aware of speculations about his choice of Running Mate for the 2020 Presidential elections.

“We wish to state that the reports are false.

“Mr. Mahama is presently focused on both his NDC flag bearer campaign and his official duties.

“Therefore, Ghanaians should disregard all such conjectures”, the statement said.
