Ex-President John D. Mahama

A journalist with the Multimedia Group Limited has been asking questions as to why some Ghanaians have so much hatred towards the former President, John Dramani Mahama.

According to Nana Adjei Oberempong, a newscaster at Adom FM, people who criticise the NDC flagbearer at any least provocation are either hypocrites or are possessed by an evil demon.

His outburst comes after Mahama's security guard received outright condemnation on social media for causing a near chaotic scene at the Assemblies of God church in Accra, when he prevented Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah from exchanging pleasantries with his boss, the former President.

Commenting on the issue however on his Facebook page, sighted by Ghanaguardian.com, Oberempong CP, who is also the founder of Dominion Prayer Battle Ministry, said there was nothing wrong with the behaviour of Mr. Mahama's bodyguard as according to him, "the man of God [Owusu Bempah] has evidently shown that he hates him [Mr. Mahama]".

Oberempong CP said Rev Owusu Bempah has insulted and disrespected Mr. Mahma for far too long and that it is the time when someone has got to stand up and say enough is enough.

Below is Oberempong's full write-up:

Ghanaians should stop the hypocrisy and be real here. All those accusing and insulting ex-president Mahama bodyguard are all HYPOCRITES and they must stop.

What else could he have done than stopping Rev Owusu Bempah from shaking hands with his boss whom the man of God has evidently shown that he hates him (Mr. Mahama)?

I know very well that if you were in the shoes of this bodyguard, you would have done same or even worse than what he did so why are we blaming him to the extent of insulting him? Or is it because we hate the Ex-President or what?

I strongly don't believe that what the prophet of God is doing to Mr. Mahama if he (Mahama) is your father, brother, husband, boss or even friend you will be happy and embrace the man of God.

It is time we called the spade a spade and not a big ladle. Or we are condemning the act because he is associated with John Mahama? This is demonic and pure hatred because hatred is from the devil and anyone who hates is a demon.

This bodyguard here has done what even Jesus Christ would have done I tell you. Okay, why did Apostle Peter whom Jesus called the ROCK cut off the soldier's ear during the arrest of his boss JESUS CHRIST? Because he was protecting his boss from his enemies and in this case, Rev Bempah has created enmity between him and Mahama and so he sees him as his boss enemy.

Let us be real as a people and stop the hypocrisy and hatred for the ex-president. The truth is that what Rev. Owusu Bempah is doing to the former president is painful and it hurts so we must condemn it.
